This idea mesmerized me and I began to explore it with plant music performances. Funding and media attention (newspapers & TV) soon followed which allowed me to have plant music sustainable nature walks in a multitude of venues – cemeteries, parks, art museums and foundations.

Yes, film music is my profession but plant music is my passion. To me, nothing is more grounding and centering than communing with nature and the technology inherent to plant music allows us a deeper dive into the natural world.

I relish the chance in Sicily to show you sustainable plant music walks and have plant concerts with you!

Hello and welcome! I’m Cassis B and here’s a little about me.

I grew up in a village very near a forest and my current plant music career has been for me a return to, so to speak, my roots. As a child, I would wander for hours in the woods, being a classical “tree hugger” (literally), speaking to the various plants I encountered and listening to them, wishing that I could somehow be on their wavelength and hear them.

During Covid, I was talking to a friend and member of a choir I was leading about the ‘climate symphony’ I was working on and she told me about plant music. I was dumbstruck. Could my childhood dream possibly come to fruition? Could I possibly hear the plants?

Welcome To Sicily Soul!

I’m a prize-winning storyteller with a deep connection to Sicily. I was an adoptee and discovered, via a DNA website, that my birth father was born in Augusta, a mere thirty-minute drive from Sicily Soul.

Coincidence or destino?

It’s on these bigger questions - fate, coincidence, family, roots - that a lot of my personal writing and storytelling, both on stage and in podcast form - has focused on.

Sicily is overflowing with natural beauty. Connecting with nature connects us with ourselves and our true nature. I’ve been a fan of plant music and its healing powers for years.

Together, through the grounding, centering power of Cassis’ plant music, we’ll arrive at a calm space from which our true self can emerge and from which we can tell our stories.

I look forward to listening to the plant music with you and helping you tell your stories from a heartfelt place.

Bella (action methods)

Bienvenuto a Sicily Soul!

I’m Isabella, a daughter of Greek immigrants from Egypt. Raised in New York, I found my way home to New Orleans where I guide musicians, writers and actors to listen to their muses.

My role is to help weave together what Cassis and Mike bring to you.

As a member of NOLA PLAYBACK THEATRE, where improvisation is central to “ play back “ stories from the audience, I will direct you to access your spontaneity. Trained in the Moreno Action Methods called psychodrama, (Don’t be afraid of that term: Psycho means soul and drama means action), I’ve developed; “ LISTENING TO YOUR MUSE”, a workshop crafted for you to tune into the voice which calls you to create.

This evolved from years of assisting artists transform fears blocking them within their specific pieces and /or causing them to question their creative identity. While we are not “ doing therapy“ at the retreat, do not be surprised if you leave feeling uplifted.

Cassis’ plant music takes you to a place where you’re ready to play using these Action Methods.This is precisely the goal, to help you play! While this is not therapy, I will encourage and safely direct you to explore your authentic, creative self. You will find or re-encounter your “ muse” and be able to listen and receive inspiration from that source. You will be ready for Mike’s coaching which will lead you to the story your soul wants to tell.

You need no experience, no special talent, simply the willingness to show up.
